3Way Calling - Free with Local Service How It Works: When you’re talking with someone, you can add a third person to the call. It’s easy to coordinate family schedules or hold a phone conference with business colleagues. To add a third person to the call: Press and quickly release the “switchhook” to place first person on hold.
Listen for dial tone.
Dial the third person’s phone number. When the third person answers, you can talk privately before making it a 3way conversation.
To make a 3way connection, press and quickly release the “switchhook”. You can now talk with both people at the same time.
To cancel the 3way connection: If the third person did not answer or you wish to disconnect them, press and quickly release the “switchhook”. You’ll be reconnected to the person holding.
Or, if either of the two people hang up, you can continue talking to the other.
To end the call: Hang up.

Automatic Call Back How It Works: Continually redials busy numbers for up to 30 minutes, and rings when line is free.
To Use: When you hear a busy signal, depress the “switchhook” and release quickly. Listen for a special dial tone.
If you have already hung up, pick up the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *66 (on a rotary phone, dial 1166).
If the line is still busy, hang up. Your phone will check the number for up to 30 minutes.
A special call back ring alerts you if the line becomes free. (Some phones ring normally.)
Pick up the handset to automatically place the call.
To Cancel: Depress the “switchhook” and release. Listen for a special dial tone.
If you have already hung up, lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *86 (on a rotary phone, dial 1186). Listen for confirmation tone or annoucement, then hang up.
To restart the 30 minute clock, repeat first four steps. Automatic Callback can check as many as 31 busy lines at once for you. To know which call is being completed, you must subscribe to Calling Number service. Service does not work on 800, 900, numbers outside specified area, or lines where Call Forward and/or some other call services have been activated.

Automatic Recall How It Works: Recalls your last caller even if you could not answer in time.
To Use: Pick up the handset and listen for dial tone. If you were already on the phone and ignored a call waiting tone, depress the “switchhook” and release quickly.
Press *69 (on a rotary phone dial 1169). Your call will complete like a normal call.
If the line is busy: Hang up. Your phone will keep trying the line up to 30 minutes. A special callback ring alerts you if the line becomes free. (Some phones ring normally.)
Pick up the handset to automatically place the call.
To cancel: Press *89 (on a rotary phone dial 1189) Listen for confirmation tone or announcement, then hang up.
In some areas, after you dial *69, a voice will give you the phone number of the call you missed and ask if you want to use the Automatic Recall feature. Follow voice instructions. Service does not work on 800, 900, numbers outside specified area, or lines where Call Forward and/or some other call services have been activated.

Call Forwarding - Free with Local Service How It Works: You can program your calls to ring at another number. Each time a call is forwarded your phone will make a short ring. You can still make outgoing calls. To Use: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *72, (on a rotary phone dial 1172). Listen for dial tone.
Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded .
When the phone is answered, your Call Forward is in effect.
If the line is busy, or there is no answer: Hang up.
Within 2 minutes, repeat first four steps. You will hear a confirmation tone to let you know your Call Forward is in effect.
To Cancel: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *73, (on a rotary phone dial 1173).
Listen for confirmation tone, then hang up. Your Call Forward is now cancelled.
To change number calls are forwarded to, you need to cancel Call Forward and follow activation steps above. Dial the number you want your calls forwarded to exactly as if you were calling it directly. Remember if you forward your number to a number outside your local calling area you will incur toll charges for each completed call forward call.

Call Forward Busy - Free with Local Service How It Works: Whenever you are on the phone, you can be sure your callers can talk with someone else or can leave a message for you. Easily turn it on or off, or change the forwarding number anytime.
To Use: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *90 (on a rotary phone dial 1190).
Listen for dial tone. Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded.
When the phone is answered, your Call Forward Busy is in effect.
If the line is busy or there is no answer: Hang up.
Within 2 minutes, repeat first four steps. You will hear a confirmation tone to let you know your Call Forward Busy is in effect.
To cancel: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *91, (on a rotary phone dial 1191).
Listen for the confirmation tone, then hang up. Your Call Forward Busy is now cancelled.
To change number calls are forwarded to, you need to cancel Call Forward Busy and follow activation steps above. Dial the number you want your calls forwarded to exactly as if you were calling it directly. Remember if you forward your number to a number outside your local calling area you will incur toll charges for each completed call forward call.

Call Forward No Answer - Free with Local Service How It Works: If you can’t get to the phone, you can be sure your calls will not go unanswered. You can easily change the forwarding number and choose the number of rings.
To Use: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *92, (on a rotary phone dial 1192).
Listen for dial tone.
Dial the number of rings (from 2-9) to be allowed before the call is forwarded. Then dial the number where you want your calls forwarded .
When the phone is answered, your Call Forward No Answer is in effect.
If the line is busy, or there is no answer: Hang up.
Within 2 minutes, repeat first four steps. You will hear a confirmation tone to let you know your Call Forward No Answer is in effect.
To Cancel: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *93, (on a rotary phone dial 1193).
Listen for confirmation tone, then hang up. Your Call Forward No Answer is now cancelled.

Call Waiting - Free with Local Service How It Works: You can use your telephone without missing other calls. A special tone alerts you to a waiting call (the person calling you hears normal ringing).
To answer call waiting: When you’re on the phone, a special tone alerts you a second call is waiting.
Simply press and quickly release the “switchhook” on your telephone. Your first caller is automatically placed on hold, while you’re connected with the second caller. If you choose not to answer the incoming call:
You will continue to hear the special tone until they hang up.
To alternate between caller: Simply press and quickly release the “switchhook”. While you talk with one caller, the other will automatically be placed on hold. Each conversation remains private.
To end either call: Hang up.
Your phone will ring.
When you answer you will be connected with the remaining party.
To cancel call waiting before a call: Lift the handset and listern for dial tone.
Press *70. (On a rotary phone dial 1170.)
Listen for the confirmation tone.
Dial the telephone number you wish to call. Your call will not be interrupted by the call waiting tone. Callers will receive a busy signal.
After you hang up, call waiting automatically restores itself.

Caller ID How It Works: Displays the name and number of the person calling you before you answer the phone on your display screen.
How to use: When you receive a call, wait until your telephone completes the first ringing signal.
The name and number of the person calling you will automatically appear on your display screen.
If you choose to answer the call, the name and number will remain on the display until the call is disconnected.
Subscription to Caller ID requires a display unit or display telephone. If the letter “P” or “Private” appears, the caller has chosen to block their name & number from displaying. If “unknown”, “out of area”, or “0” appears the caller is in an area that does not support the feature. If you are on the phone and subscribe to both Caller ID and Call Waiting Services, when your call waiting alerts you of the incoming call, the name and number will display on your Caller ID unit (if equipment has capability).

Call Waiting Caller ID How It Works: This feature requires subscription to both services of Call Waiting, Caller ID as well as a telephone or display unit enhanced with this service. The feature works the same as the individual services but allows you to know who is calling when you are on the phone. There is no additional charge for this enhancement.
You must subscribe to both Caller ID and Call Waiting to receive this free enhancement.

Distinctive Ring How It Works: Announces important callers with a special ring.
How to use: Pick up the handset and listen for the dial tone.
Press *61, (on a rotary phone, dial 1161).
Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored on your list.
Follow the voice instructions and press 3 to turn the feature ON (if currently off), or turn the feature OFF (if currently on).
To add the last caller to your VIP list: Press #01#, (on a rotary phone dial 1201).
To hear the phone numbers on your list: Dial 1.
After the list is read, voice instructions will follow.
To add a number to your list: Press #, (on a rotary phone, dial 12).
Follow the voice instructions. You can store up to 31 phone numbers on your list.
To remove a number from your list: Press *, (on a rotary phone, dial 11).
Follow the voice instructions to remove any or all of those numbers.
To hear instructions again: Dial 0.
When someone calls: If the call is from someone on your list, you will hear a special ring. All other calls will have a normal ring.

Originating Call Management How It Works: Allows you to take control of your outgoing calls with the use of a PIN. You can allow or deny calls to specific numbers, area codes or exchanges. This service gives you complete control.
Setup: From your computer go to www.midcentury.com, click on Manage My Phone
Enter User ID (10 digit telephone number)
Enter Password (MCTC will assign temporary password for setup), click submit
Click on Edit (this allows you to change the temporary password to your own)
Fill in required fields and click on submit
Under “Select Service” click on Originating Call Management
You will receive a new window with several options
You are given the option to select the types of calls to Block. Each category gives you an option to Allow Block (Click in the circle for desired option). Continue the process for all five categories. Block Override PIN (this should be the PIN you created during setup) Now you have two sections to work with. This is where you enter the specific numbers, you wish to allow or block:
Always Allow Numbers or Always Block Numbers You MUST enter all 10 digits of the phone number, Click on Add to start entering your numbers. You can also add a description of number. Once entered click on Apply. Repeat process for remaining phone numbers you wish to Allow or Block. If you need to delete a number click on the number to highlight, then click delete. Once you have completed entering your numbers, click on Submit Changes. Making Calls to blocked numbers with use of a PIN Lift the receiver and wait for dial tone, dial the number you wish to call You will receive a recording stating “We’re sorry this call is not permitted” at this time enter your PIN. The call will then be completed.
Changing your PIN with your phone Dial Access Number: 778-8400 (if your prefix is 293, 758, 759, 778, 783, 926) or 879-8400 (if your prefix is 484, 639, 875, 876, 879, 927, 995) You will receive a voice prompt requesting you enter your PIN (0000 first time user) You will be prompted to enter your NEW PIN (must be 4 digits) You will be prompted to enter your NEW PIN again for verification Your new PIN is now activated.

Per Call Blocking (no charge) How It Works: Prevents your name and phone number from appearing on the Caller ID display unit of the party you are dialing.
How to Use: Pick up your handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *67 (on a rotary phone, dial 1167).
Dial the number you are calling as usual.
The person you called will not be able to see your name and telephone number on their display screen. Instead, a “P” or “Private” will be displayed.
You must dial *67 before each call you place. Otherwise, your phone number will be released to the person receiving your call. You do not need to subscribe to Caller ID to use per call blocking. Calls to 911, telephone operators, and toll free calls will receive your name and telephone number, even if Per Call Blocking is used.

Selective Call Acceptance How It Works: You can program your phone to accept only those calls from a special list of people. When your service is “turned on”, your phone will accept only calls from those in your Selective Call Acceptance list. All others will hear an announcement that you are not accepting calls at this time.
To “turn on” the service: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *64, (on a rotary phone, dial 1164).
Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored in your acceptance list.
Follow the voice instructions and dial 3 to turn the feature on (if currently off), or turn the feature off (if currently on).
To add the last caller to your acceptance list: Press #01#, (on a rotary phone, dial 1201)
To hear the phone numbers on your list: Dial 1.
After the list is read, voice instructions will follow.
To add a number to your list: Press #, (on rotary phone, dial 12). Follow voice instructions. You can store up to 31 phone numbers on your list.
To remove a number from your list: Press *, (on a rotary phone, dial 11). Follow voice instructions to remove any or all numbers from your list.
To hear instructions again: Dial 0.

If the current number is correct, dial 1. If you wish to change the current (“forward-to” number, dial 0 and follow voice instructions.
To hear the phone numbers on your list: Dial 1. After the list is read, voice instructions will follow.
To add a number to your list: Press #, (on a rotary phone, dial 12). Follow voice instructions. You can store up to 31 phone numbers on your list.
To remove a number from your list: Press *, (on a rotary phone, dial 11). Follow voice instructions to remove any or all numbers from your list.
To hear instructions again: Dial 0.
When someone calls: If your service is “turned on”, callers who are on your forward list will be rerouted to your ”forward-to” number. If the caller is not on your forward list, the call will ring at your home as usual.
You may press 1, 0, #, or * at any time rather than waiting for the voice instructions. The list you create here is separate from any other lists you may be using for Distinctive Ring, Selective Call Rejection, Selective Call Acceptance, and similar services. This service can work with Call Forward (all calls). Numbers on your selective list will follow you to your Selective Call Forward number, all other calls will be routed to your regular Call Forward number. *Feature limitations apply.

Follow the voice instructions and dial 3 to turn the feature on (if currently off), or turn the feature off (if currently on).
To add the last caller to your rejection list: Press #01#, (on a rotary phone, dial 1201).
To hear the phone numbers on your list: Dial 1. After the list is read, voice instructions will follow.
To add a number to your list: Press #, (on a rotary phone, dial 12). Follow voice instructions. You can store up to 31 phone numbers on your list.
To remove a number from your list: Press *, (on a rotary phone, dial 11). Follow voice instructions to remove any or all numbers from your list.
To hear instructions again: Dial 0.

Speed Call 8 or 30 - Free with Local Service How It Works: Speed Call allows you to place a local or long distance call from your phone by dialing one or two digits. You can program up to eight or thirty numbers depending on which service you have. Speed Call 8 allows you to program up to eight numbers which can be called by dialing one digit (2-9); Speed Call 30 allows you to program up to thirty numbers which can be called by dialing two digits (20-49). Important Information: Remember when programming a long distance call to enter the “1” before the area code. You enter the telephone numbers just as you would to place the call.
Programming your Speed Call list: Lift the receiver and listen for dial tone
Press *74, (Speed Call 8), on a rotary phone dial 1174 or
Press *75, (Speed Call 30), on a rotary phone dial 1175 Listen for dial tone.
Dial desired Speed Code Number 2-9 (Speed Call 8) 20-49 (Speed Call 30), followed by the telephone number.
Press #, (on a rotary phone wait four seconds after dialing).
Hang up or wait for dial tone and repeat the steps until you have assigned a code to each telephone number on your Speed Call list.
Placing a call using your one or two digit code: Lift receiver and listen for dial tone.
Press the one or two digit code of the number you wish to call, followed by the # button. (On a rotary phone wait four seconds after dialing.)
To change your Speed Call List: Lift the receiver and listen for dial tone
Press *74, (Speed Call 8), on a rotary phone dial 1174 or
Press *75, (Speed Call 30), on a rotary phone dial 1175 Listen for dial tone.
Dial desired Speed Code Number 2-9 (Speed Call 8) 20-49 (Speed Call 30), you wish to change.
Listen for the cancellation tone, followed by dial tone.
Enter the new Speed Call telephone number, followed by the #.
Listen for confirmation tone.
You are not able to delete a number from your list, but can replace it with another number. If you do not have a replacement number, enter your own telephone number.

Telemarketer Call Screening How It Works: Stops calls before your phone rings, that do not carry name and number of calling party, “Unknown”, or “Out of Area”. The caller will receive an announcement stating that “The party you have dialed does not accept calls from Telemarketers, and you request your name be added to the ”Do Not Call list”. The caller is given the option to “dial 1 or stay on the line” for the call to be connected to you. This option is for callers that are not telemarketers but are calling from an area or phone where name and number are not displayed, or possibly displaying “Out of Area” or “Unknown”.
This feature is not compatible with “Wake Up Service”.

Voice Mail How It Works: Voice mail will answer your calls when you are not able to. Whether you are home, away or on the phone. You are alerted of new messages with a stuttered dial tone and a message waiting indicator light (if your phone is equipped). You can retrieve messages from home or away. You also receive Voice Mail Extra which allows you to retrieve your messages via the Internet and email notifications
Sub Mail boxes are available for additional family members for an additional charge.
Voice Mail Access Numbers: If your prefix is 484,639, 875, 876, 879, 927, or 995 your access number is 879-8000 If your prefix is 293, 758, 759, 778, 783, or 926 your access number is 778-8000 If your prefix is 358 your access number 358-1000
Inital Set up for No Answer: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *92.
Listen for dial tone.
Dial the number of rings (from 2-9) to be allowed before the call is forwarded. Then dial the Access Number for your prefix.
Voice Mail will answer your call. Follow the voice instructions.
To cancel or change number of rings: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *93.
Listen for confirmation tone, then hang up.
Repeat steps in initial setup if changing number of rings.
Initial Set up for Busy: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *90.
Listen for dial tone. Dial the Voice Mail Access Number for your prefix.
Voice Mail will answer your call. Follow the voice instructions.
To cancel: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
Press *91.
Listen for the confirmation tone, then hang up. Your Call Forward Busy is now cancelled.
Retrieving Messages: From the home or business, Voice Mail is on: Dial Access Number for your prefix. Press #. Enter password if requested.
Away from home or business, Voice Mail is on: Dial Access Number for your prefix, followed by Voice Mail Box number (your 7 digit telephone number). Press * while the greeting is playing to access your mailbox. Enter PIN if requested, followed by # key.

Wake Up Service How It Works: You can schedule up to two (2) wake up calls at anytime within a 24 hour period. At the scheduled time, the service will attempt to place the call to your number. If the line is busy or there is no answer, the service will attempt two (2) additional times at five (5) minute intervals.
To set up: Dial Access Number 778-8765 if your prefix is 293, 758, 759. 778, 783 or 926 879-8765 if your prefix is 484, 639, 875, 876, 879, 927 or 995
Follow Voice instructions.
