Need help with basic phone service?
If you need local phone service but cannot afford the cost you might qualify for the Lifeline/Link-Up program. Individuals or families which are enrolled in any of the following government aid programs qualify:

Medicaid • Food Stamps • Supplemental Security Income (SSI) • Federal Pulic Housing
Assistance • Low Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) • Temporary Assistance
to Need Families • National School Lunch Program Free Lunch Program

If you reside within Mid Century Telephone Cooperative’s service area, please contact our business office 778-8611 to determine eligibility.

Link-Up is a program which helps households pay the installation charge for phone service. This federally funded effort will assist qualified low-income consumers by paying 50% (up to $30.00) of the cost of installing local service in their principal residence. Link-Up recipients may be eligible for an additional $12.00 credit towards installation charges through the Universal Telephone Service Assistance Program, which is supported by voluntary contributions throughout Illinois.
Lifeline is a federally funded program which provides assistance to help pay the monthly
charge for local telephone service from $1.50 up to $8.25 to qualified low income consumers.

Can you help?
The need for assistance continues to grow, more donations are needed. If you want to contribute so low income families can obtain local phone service contact your telephone provider. You can donate a monthly amount from 50 cents to $5.00 on your telephone statement. One time donations are also accepted and should be sent to:
