CALL WAITING Call waiting costs $0 per month for residential and $0 per month for business. Call waiting is easy to work-you will hear a tone when you are on the line and all you need to do is press the switchhook briefly and it will put the one call on hold while you answer the other. This eliminates missing calls. You have the option to cancel call waiting before you make a call if you do not want to be interrupted. To cancel you need to push 70# or from a rotary phone dial 7-0 before dialing the number you are calling. After you hang up from the call then call waiting restores itself. goto top

THREE WAY CALLING Three way calling cost 0 per month residence and $0 per month business. Three way calling is a feature that allows you to be talking with 2 different people at the same time. To activate this feature you would put the first person on hold by pushing the switch hook briefly and when you get dialtone you dial the number of the other party when they answer push the switch hook briefly again and all three will be able to talk with each other. If one person hangs up it does not affect the other two on the line. goto top

CALL FORWARD BUSY/DON’T ANSWER Call forward busy/don’t answer is a feature that allows you to forward your line to another telephone number while you are on the line or away. You can use this feature when you are on the internet and have an internet answering service like call wave. To activate the call forward don’t answer you press *92 then the number of rings you want before answered followed by the telephone number you want forwarded to. You do need to connect to be established, if the line is busy hang up and repeat the process to be established. To deactivate press *93. To activate call forward busy press *90 followed by the telephone number you want the calls forwarded to. Again you would need to repeat the process if the line is busy. To de-activate press *91. CALLER ID/CALL WAITING With caller id/call waiting if you are on the phone and you receive the tone of an incoming call you can look at your display unit and see who is calling. You need to make sure your equipment has the capability for this feature to work. AUTOMATIC CALLBACK Get through to busy numbers as soon as they are free. When you hear a busy signal press and release the switchhook and listen for special tone. Press *66 and your phone will automatically check the number up to 30 minutes. When the line is free you will receive a special callback ring and pick up the handset to automatically place the call. This features costs $3.50 per month residence and $5.00 per month business. It is available in some packages.

When the service is turned on, calls from numbers on your list will forward to you and all others will ring at your phone as usual. TELEMARKETER CALL SCREENING The cost is $2.95 per month business or residence. Telemarketer call screening will intercept calls that are delivered as “unknown” or “out of area” to your line. The service plays an announcement stating that the party they have dialed does not accept calls from telemarketers, and you request your name to be added to the “do not call” list, the caller is also given the option to “dial 1 or stay on the line” to complete the call. This would be for calls that are not telemarketing but come across as “unknown” or “out of area”. goto top

WAKE UP SERVICE Wake Up Service allows you to schedule up to 2 wake-up calls at anytime within the next 24 hours. The wake-up calls can be scheduled, queried, altered or canceled. Voice prompting allows user-friendly scheduling. At the scheduled time, the service will attempt to place the wake-up call to the telephone. If the call cannot be completed due to busy or no-answer conditions, up to 2 additional attempts will be made at 5 minute intervals. CALL FORWARDING Call forwarding cost $ 0 per month for residence and $0 per month for business. Call forwarding allows you to forward your calls to any number you choose. With this feature you can be reached anywhere you go as long as you forward your number before leaving home. Many subscribers like forwarding to their cellular phones, that way they don’t miss any calls. The one thing to remember with call forwarding is if you forward to a toll number you will be billed for every call just as though you were calling the number from your home. To forward your line push 72# or from a rotary phone dial 7-2, listen for second dial tone and dial the number your are forwarding to, when they answer the call forwarding is established. If the line would be busy or no answer hang up and repeat the process. The call forwarding is then established goto top

SPEED CALL 8 AND 30 Speed call 8 cost $0 residence and $0 business per month. Speed call 30 cost $0 residence and $0 business per month. With speed call 8 you select a one digit code (numbers 2-9) with speed call 30 you select a two digit code (20-49). These features allow you to dial only the one or two digit code followed by the # key to reach the number for that code. To activate speed call 8 you would push *74 or dial 1174 if rotary phone listen for dial tone then enter the code you selected and the complete telephone number it will represent. Be sure to include the 1 and area code if needed to complete the call, then push the # key and listen for the confirmation tone. You would do the same for the remaining codes. If you have speed call 30 you would push *75 or dial 1175 if rotary phone listen for the dial tone. Then the two digit code followed by number. goto top

VOICE MAIL Voice mail is easy to use. Your callers can leave messages for you when you are on or away from your phone. With voice mail you will never worry about missing a call again. To activate call forward don’t answer press *92 receive a 2nd dial tone and press the number you want of rings before the call is answered by voice mail, enter the access number 778-8000 (south) and 879-8000 (north) then follow the voice instructions. To de-activate press *93. To activate call forward busy press *90 and receive 2nd dial tone enter access number and follow the voice instructions. To de-activate press *91. You will have a stuttered dial tone on your line when you have messages. Any time you need help while using voice mail press 0 on your phone and follow voice instructions. To retrieve your messages from home dial the access number and follow the voice instructions. To retrieve your messages away from home you need to have a password set up on your mailbox-this needs to be at least 4 digits and not more than 16. To change your password you need to access the mailbox by dialing the access number, press 9, press 2 and enter your new password followed by the # button, then enter the new password again followed by the # button and the password will be changed. The mailbox number is your 7 digit telephone number. This feature is available in some packages and costs only $3.00 per month residence and $5.00 per month business. goto top

CALLER ID WITH NAME Caller id allows you to know who is calling before you answer the telephone. You need to have a telephone or a display unit that will relay the calling information to you. On the display you will see the calling party name and telephone number – sometimes you could receive “out of area”, “unknown”, “private”, or “blocked” this is due to where the call is being placed from. Caller id is $6.50 per month residence and $7.50 per month business. The feature is available in some packages. If you are not receiving the calling information check and make sure the unit is in the jack first and the phone plugged into the unit. PER-CALL BLOCKING By dialing a code before you place a call, you can prevent your phone number from appearing on the caller id display of the person you are calling. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone. Press *67 then dial the number you are calling as usual. The person you have called will not be able to see your number displayed on their telephone display screen. Instead a “p” or “private” will be displayed. You must do this for each call you place that you do not want your number to show. This is a per call feature only. There is no charge for this feature. You need to use this feature if you have a non-published number your number does not show. goto top

DISTINCTIVE RINGING You’ll know when someone special is calling by the ring of your phone. To use the feature lift handset and listen for dial tone press *61. Then listen to announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many numbers are currently stored in your list. To add the last caller to your list press #01#. To add a number to your list press # and follow the voice instructions. You can store up to 31 numbers. To remove a number from your list press * and follow the instructions. To hear the numbers on your list press 1. To hear instructions again press 0. ORIGINATING CALL MANAGEMENT (OCM) You have a way of controlling the calls that originate from your phone line. With this feature you can allow or block calls to particular numbers originating from your phone line. Originating call types, including International, 10-10-XXX, Operator, Long Distance and Local can be selected, by type, as either Allowed or Blocked. You can enter specific numbers that can be identified as Always Allow or Always Block. The service provides a PIN override so that calls normally blocked may be completed on a per-call basis. You can change your PIN either over your phone line (like voicemail) or you can go to midcentury.com and click on “Manage My Phone” and follow instructions. If you do not have internet access you would need to call the office to make changes on your blocked or allowed calls. To change your PIN you would dial an access number which is 778-8400 South and 879-8400 North. The cost for this feature is $2.00/mo if you call us to make changes you will be given 2x year free any after 2xs you would be billed $5.00 Program Change Charge. goto top
